Who will win the 2021-22 Premier League Title?
The chase for the title has essentially whittled down to a three-horse race. Don’t tell that to Manchester United fans though.
Manchester City
Manchester City remain on track for Premier League glory. Their 3-1 victory over Watford last weekend put them atop the Premier League table. They’ve now won 11 of their first 15 matches and have the highest xG in the league at 2.41. Bernardo Silva continues to lead the way for City having scored 3 goals against Aston Villa and Watford this month.
Liverpool
They may be ranked second but Liverpool have the numbers to back their chances of winning the Premier League. Liverpool impressively lead the league in both goals scored (44) and clean sheets (9). They also have the highest open play xG with 30.9, nearly twice that of Manchester United who are ranked fourth. Mo Salah remains Liverpool’s main man, leading the league in goals (13), assists (9) and xG (0.87).
Chelsea
Chelsea’s potentially costly loss to West Ham saw their title odds slide. It was their first Premier League defeat after leading at half-time since December 2018. The Blues had been unbeaten in an incredible 48 league games when ahead at the half. Injury issues have meant Chelsea have been unable to register a league win since mid-November.
