A young Warriors fan who was left heartbroken on Monday got the surprise of a lifetime today from her hero Steph Curry.
10-year old PJ from Denver, was devastated after Curry didn’t play in Monday’s game against the Nuggets. It was the second setback for PJ as she already had to miss the postponed game from December which was scheduled to take place a day after her birthday.
An emotional PJ was captured on the court bawling after discovering that Steph Curry didn’t make the trip to Denver. Her father Rory admitted he was glad that the camera didn’t catch him as he too was upset over how distressed she was.
The Warriors however were quick to act. Warriors head of PR Raymond Ridder reached out to PJ and her family to ensure they had tickets to Thurday’s rematch.
PJ’s dreams finally came true on Thursday with the family seated courtside to see Curry and the Warriors take on the Nuggets.
The two-time MVP showed his class by going over to greet PJ and her family.
“I’m sorry about Monday but we made it up right? I hope you have a good time tonight. I’m so glad that you love basketball.”
It’s moments like this that show why Steph Curry is such a fan favorite. Safe to say he’s got a fan for life in PJ.
