Chris Paul moves up to third on the all-time assist list after dishing out 18 dimes against the Pelicans and Ben Simmons continues to frustrate the Sixers brass.
Making Headlines
Chris Paul has moved up to third on the NBA’s all-time assists list. Paul recorded his 10,336th assist against his original team the New Orleans Hornets after Jae Crowder drained a 3-pointer. The achievement means that the Phoenix Suns have had three of the NBA’s top four assist leaders – Jason Kidd (12,091 assists), Chris Paul and Steve Nash (10,335). John Stockton remains the undisputed assist king with 15,806 career assists.
Frustrations are mounting in Philadelphia over Ben Simmons’ refusal to accept help from the organization. Simmons has worked with team doctors to treat a back ailment but is unwilling to discuss his mental readiness with them. The Aussie point forward instead prefers to work with mental health professionals from the National Basketball Players Association. It remains unclear when and if Simmons will suit up for the Sixers.
The Los Angeles Lakers survived a scare last night to squeeze out a 119-117 victory over the Rockets. Houston led for the majority of the game but Kevin Porter Jr came up short with his buzzer beater attempt. Dallas got scorched by Miami who now have a league equal-best 6-1 record and Cade Cunningham struggled against the Bucks, shooting 2-14 from the field.
