Making Headlines
Unvaccinated NBA players visiting Toronto will be subject to strict rules. They must take a Covid test upon arrival and will only be allowed to leave their hotel for team activities. Anyone who breaks the rules could face up to six months in prison and/or a $750,000 fine.
The Los Angeles City Council passed a local vaccine mandate that impacts both the Lakers and Clippers. Anyone entering an indoor business including the Staples Center will need to provided a proof of vaccination. Unvaccinated individuals can still gain access as long as they show proof of a recent negative test.
New Los Angeles Lakers signing Trevor Ariza underwent surgery on his right ankle and will be reevaluated in eight weeks. The Lakers expect the veteran forward to return just before Christmas. Ariza played for the Miami Heat last season where he averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds.

The Reddit community was pleased to see Stephen Curry’s eloquent take on Covid vaccines. The three-time champion cited the locker room aspect as a reason why players were not strong vaccine advocates. He hopes that the league achieves a 100% vaccination rate sooner than later.
Staying with vaccinations, Kareem Abdul Jabber took aim at Andrew Wiggins. The Lakers legend believes Wiggins should be doing more to help the Black community instead of making statements that could have a “seriously damaging impact”.
