Thunder vs Rockets Pick
Houston are desperately seeking to snap their 12-game losing streak by winning today in Oklahoma. The Rockets won their only game of the season in a 124-91 thrashing of the Thunder in October but have since failed to get a win.
Oklahoma have been a surprise package this season. They recently put together a four-game win streak against Western Conference opposition and enjoyed two wins over the Lakers. Despite being the second lowest scorers in the league, the Thunder have plenty of players who are capable of putting up points against the Rockets.
The Rockets may be the better shooting team on paper but they also have one of the worst defenses in the league. Over the last ten games Houston has allowed opponents to score an average of 114.1 points compared to the Thunder who held opponents to 104.7 points per game. OKC should have easier looks at the basket given Houston opponents have averaged 45.5% from the field.
Houston’s carelessness with the ball could land them in trouble against OKC. The Thunder are 15th in the league for points off turnovers and should find plenty of opportunities given Houston lead the league in turnovers. Expect Oklahoma City to cover the spread and get the win at home against Houston.
