‘Fire Fist’ to have a homecoming.
A flyweight clash between Ji Yeon Kim and Mandy Bohm will take place at a UFC Fight Night event on February 4 in Seoul, South Korea, according to sources close to the situation.
Kim has not competed in her home country since 2016. Back in late 2019, she was slated to face Sabina Mazo at UFC Busan but an injury canceled that bout. The 33-year-old is coming off four consecutive decision losses. Even though she has earned ‘Fight of the Night’ honors in two of those bouts, Kim will likely be competing for her UFC future.
Bohm, similarly, has not had the best of luck with the judges in her two outings for the promotion. She is winless inside the Octagon, dropping decisions to Ariane Lipski and Victoria Leonardo.
Outside of a rumored fight between Da Un Jung and Devin Clark, there are no other matchups scheduled for this event. There are also rumblings of ‘Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung headlining the show but nothing is set in stone.
