The Fight Analyst swept the board at UFC Vegas 56. He is now sitting with a 26-11 record and looking to keep things going this weekend at UFC 275.
The UFC is coming off of an exciting fight card that saw Alexander Volkov make quick work of Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event. We also saw a new contender in the featherweight division in Movsar Evloev dominate the always tough Dan Ige.
On tap for this weekend is a highly anticipated PPV headlined by the reigning and defending Light Heavyweight Champion Glover Teixiera who’s looking to make his first title defense against the dangerous Jiri Prochazka. Also, in the co-main event we have arguably the women’s MMA GOAT Valentina Shevchenko set to defend her flyweight title yet again against the number one contender Taila Santos.
Top to bottom this fight card has a ton of great exciting fights and with that said, let’s dig deep into the Best Bets for UFC 275.
Manel Kape vs. Rogerio Bontorin
In the flyweight division, we have a fun scrap between two top-ranked flyweight contenders in Manel Kape and Rogerio Bontorin.
Kape came into his UFC debut with a ton of hype as he was the RIZIN FC flyweight champion. Things didn’t go as planned dropping his first two fights with the promotion but since he has been dominant with back-to-back finishes. Kape has the ability to end the fight at any given moment of a fight and that will come in handy against the tough Rogerio Bontorin.
Bontorin looked like a real prospect after upsetting Magomed Bibulatov and dispatching Raulian Paiva in his first two fights in the UFC. He is now only 1-3 in his last four fights and will be desperately in need of a win this weekend.
Bontorin excels in his grappling but also has some pop in his hands. Even though he’s got some power for his size, he will need to get this fight to the mat as early as possible. Kape on the hand is most dangerous out in space on the feet as he has 11 wins by knockout or TKO but he is also well-versed on the mat with multiple submission victories. Kape will look to sprawl and brawl where you can expect him to eventually end Bontorin’s night on the feet.

Manel Kape -220 to win |
SeungWoo Choi vs. Joshua Culibao
In the featherweight division, we have a fun fight between two dynamic strikers in SeungWoo Choi and Joshua Culibao.
Choi has had some mixed success thus far in the UFC as he is riding a 3-3 record into this contest. He is a dynamic striker that has the power to knock out anyone in the featherweight division. Where his troubles lie is in his defensive grappling but luckily for him, Culibao is willing to stand and bang giving him the fight that he wants.
Culibao came into his UFC debut on short notice and up a weight class against a much bigger foe in Jalin Turner which was deemed too much for him. Since then he has gone 1-0-1 with his lone win coming against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke. Culibao much like Choi likes to stand and trade with his opposition which should make a very exciting matchup.
On paper, these two fighters are evenly matched but Choi is just a bit better in stand-up. He is much more technical and diverse with his strikes and has the power to shut Culibao’s lights out. As long as Choi doesn’t get clipped as he’s being overzealous looking for the finish, he should put it on Culibao to get the hard-fought decision victory.

Liang Na vs. Silvana Gomez Juarez
In the women’s strawweight division, we have a fight between two fighters looking to get their first win in the octagon between Liang Na and Silvana Gomez Juarez.
Na had a very tough UFC debut as she took on the very dangerous Ariane Carnelossi. She had her moments in that fight before ultimately getting finished in the second round. Na has some slick submission skills which will come to play a major factor in her fight against Juarez.
Juarez is coming off of back-to-back losses in her short UFC career thus far. She had to go up against one of the top prospects in the division in Lupita Godinez in her debut which saw her get finished on the mat. She subsequently followed that up with yet another submission loss to Vanessa Demopoulos after knocking her down and almost finishing her. She will need to sure up her submission defense before her matchup with Liang Na.
Juarez has struggled mightily when the fight hits the mat and that could happen once again here against Na. Na has a knack of getting the fight to the mat one way or another much like she did against Carnelossi. If this fight eventually hits the mat we could see yet another submission victory for Liang Na.
