You know you’re playing terrible when your own mother calls you out on social media. That’s what happened to Warriors forward Draymond Green after yet another subpar Finals performance in Game 4.
The forward has struggled in the series so far. He is averaging just 4.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.8 assist in the 4 games. What’s worse is that Green is shooting an abysmal 23 percent from the field and hasn’t made more than two field goals in any of the four Finals games.
Green was benched earlier in the fourth quarter as he watched his team go on an 11-3 run without him to take control of the game.
Green, who has also fouled out in two of the four games, wasn’t happy being benched by coach Steve Kerr, but understands it’s a part of the game.
“I’m definitely never thrilled coming out of the game with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter in a must-win game…But if that’s what Coach decides, then you roll with it. I had to keep my head in the game and whenever I went back in, try to make some plays.”
The benching forced his mom, Mary Babers, to tell fans to “stop asking me what’s wrong with Dray”. It turns out she’s just as perplexed as them.
“I DONT KNOW! Maybe this is a CLONE! Lmbo WHERE IS THE Draymond that helped get us here!! Hmmmm I have never seen this either!” she tweeted.
Fans couldn’t believe that Green’s own mom was roasting him on Twitter.
It didn’t take long for Draymond Green to address the tweet on his own podcast.
By the looks of things he isn’t sweating at getting roasted by his own mom. Fans however would clearly love to see her and her son go at it on one of his podcasts.
Green won’t have to wait too long before getting an opportunity to redeem himself to Warriors fans and his mom. Golden State play Boston in Game 5 on Monday.
