A Twitter duel has kicked off between Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant and four-time Champion Draymond Green.
The duel started when Klay Thompson called out Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr for his Tweet from earlier on in the season.
“There was this one player on the Grizzlies who tweeted ‘Strength in numbers’ after they beat us in the regular season, and it pissed me off so much. I can’t wait to retweet that thing. Freakin’ bum. I had to watch that. I’m like, ‘This freakin’ clown,” said Thompson.
Morant saw the quote and believed the Grizzlies were still living rent-free in the Warriors’ heads.
Draymond Green replied to a story about Morant’s tweet and that’s when things took off.
One fan suggested that the Grizzlies and Warriors need to meet up on Christmas Day, a fixture traditionally reserved for some of the biggest games of the year.
Morant was sold on the idea and wants to play Golden State in Memphis.
Draymond Green however had to remind the guard that the defending champions usually play at home.
This didn’t seem to deter Morant who is still keen to face the Warriors.
Whether or not the Grizzlies will face the Warriors on Christmas Day remains to be seen. Either way, NBA fans will be in for a treat whenever these two sides match up.
