The Fight Analyst is coming off of yet another 3-0 sweep. That puts his record at an outstanding 7-2 over the last 3 events. Check out what his best bets are for UFC 272.
Arguably one of the most anticipated fights of 2022 is finally among us. Two friends turned foes in Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal get to settle their differences in the main event for UFC 272. The lead-up to this fight has been phenomenal and you can expect the fight itself to live up to the expectations.
The rest of the pay-per-view event is stacked top to bottom with exciting fights throughout like Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Renato Moicano in the co-main or even Bryce Mitchell and Edson Barboza. There are a lot of great fights to watch and to also bet on, so with that said let’s dive into the Best 3 Bets for UFC 272.
Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Renato Moicano

Rafael Dos Anjos -185 to win |
In the co-main event we have a fight in the lightweight division between former lightweight champ Rafael Dos Anjos taking on short-notice replacement Renato Moicano.
Dos Anjos was in training camp for months getting ready for a fight with Rafael Fiziev. Unfortunately, Fiziev had to withdraw earlier this week due to contracting Covid. Dos Anjos now gets to face a striker/grappler on just a few days’ notice.
Moicano is coming off of an incredible win at UFC 271 against Alexander Hernandez. After his post-fight speech, he talked himself into a short notice co-main event against the former champ. He is a tall task ahead of him but it is one that he is game for.
This particular matchup is much more forgiving than against Rafael Fiziev. Dos Anjos is a bit better everywhere than Moicano. It’s hard to see Moicano have success grappling with a BJJ black belt in Dos Anjos and he doesn’t have the stopping power on the feet either. Dos Anjos should have his way on the feet with him and put him away in the latter portion of the fight.

Dustin Jacoby vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk
Garrett’s Pick |
---|
Dustin Jacoby -200 to win |
We have a scrap in the Light Heavyweight division between two skilled strikers in Dustin Jacoby and Michael Oleksiejczuk. Both fighters are riding high coming off of wins and are looking to keep their winning ways going.
Jacoby has looked great since his second stint with the promotion. He has amassed a 4-0-1 record and has really come on as of late. He is a very skilled kickboxer that is going against a very aggressive boxer in Oleksiejczuk which should make this a great fight.
Oleksiejczuk has had his fair share of ups and downs in his UFC career but he is riding a two-fight winning streak into this fight. He is a very aggressive, straightforward brawler that will be looking to take Jacoby’s head off in this matchup.
This is another tailor-made matchup for Jacoby. He gets to fight another aggressive, pressure boxer which is right into his wheelhouse. Jacoby has made a living out-striking fighters like Oleksiejczuk and this one will be no different. Jacoby will chew up Oleksiejczuk’s lead leg and counter him as he presses forward for the entirety of this fight to win a wide decision.

Edson Barboza vs. Bryce Mitchell
Garrett’s Pick |

Edson Barboza +137 to win |
We have a great fight between two top-ranked Featherweight contenders in #10 Edson Barboza and #11 Bryce Mitchell. This fight has the chance to be fight of the night.
Most people didn’t believe Barboza was going to make the cut to Featherweight given his size at Lightweight. It seems as the weight cut has been easy on him and he has looked great since the cut-down. Barboza comes into this matchup with a massive experience edge over his opponent that could pay dividends in this fight.
Mitchell is coming off a long layoff due to some injuries that he has sustained. He gets his toughest opponent of his career in his comeback fight. Mitchell knows he is at a distinct disadvantage on the feet and will be looking to get this fight to mat as early as possible to get this victory.
This is a classic striker vs grappler matchup, even though Mitchell doesn’t like to think so. Barboza has the much more technical and powerful striker on the feet and has the takedown defense to keep it there. Mitchell may land some takedowns early but if he doesn’t get him out of there early, Barboza will finish him with strikes in the latter portion of this fight.
