After a week’s hiatus, The Fight Analyst is back! On the heels of yet another 2-1 night and 15-6 overall, we are back with our best bets for UFC 273.
After spoiling us with non-stop action each and every week, this past week without a UFC card felt like a long time. But the UFC comes back with one of the most anticipated PPV events of the year with UFC 273.
Headlining the fight card are two title fights for the featherweight and bantamweight championships. The rest of the card is stacked with talent which should make for a great night of betting. With that said, let’s take a look at our 3 Best Bets for UFC 273.
Mark Madsen vs. Vinc Pichel
The Fight Analyst’s Pick |
---|
Mark Madsen +115 to win |
First off in the lightweight division, we have a great scrap between Olympic silver medalist wrestler Mark Madsen and the always tough and dangerous Vinc Pichel.
Madsen hit the ground running since winning all three of his fights coming into the UFC. He is currently undefeated (11-0) and will be facing his stiffest competition to date when he takes on Pichel.
Pichel is arguably the best he’s ever looked winning each of his last three fights. His only loss in the last eight years was against another high-level wrestler in Gregor Gillespie. The savageness from Pichel will need to be put on full display to keep his winning ways going.
Both fighters are looking to keep their winning streak alive on their quest for a potential title fight. Pichel has a distinct advantage on the feet but his inability to keep it there will be a major problem against Madsen. Pichel will have some early success on the feet until Madsen gets ahold of him and uses his superior wrestling to stifle him across the entirety of the fight.

Josh Fremd vs. Anthony Hernandez
The Fight Analyst’s Pick |
---|
Josh Fremd +152 to win |
In the middleweight division, we have a fight between promotional newcomer Josh Fremd and Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez.
Fremd comes into his UFC debut after securing a contract on Dana White’s Looking for a Fight. Despite being only 9-2 in his professional career, Fremd has a plethora of experience as he also went 7-2 as an amateur. He also trains at the well-known Factory X with Marc Montoya at the helm who will be getting him ready for this matchup.
Hernandez gets a new opponent after his opponent Dricus Du Plessis was rescheduled to fight Kelvin Gastelum who was ultimately scratched from the fight card. Hernandez essentially grew up in the UFC as half of his professional fights have been with the promotion. He will need to utilize that experience to his advantage to be victorious in this fight.
Hernandez is tough, gritty, and hard to put away. He is a very well-rounded fighter that can win the fight anywhere it goes. Fremd on the hand is also much like Hernandez as he is good everywhere. The thing with Fremd is that he has the intangibles that aren’t seen much in the middleweight division with a 6’4″ frame. That mixed in with having the edge in power and wrestling should help him get his first UFC win.

Raquel Pennington vs. Aspen Ladd
The Fight Analyst’s Pick |
---|
Raquel Pennington -200 to win |
In the women’s bantamweight division we have a fight between two of the division’s best in Raquel Pennington and Aspen Ladd.
A mainstay in the women’s bantamweight division, Pennington is looking to continue her career rejuvenation against Ladd. She is riding a three-fight winning streak which is her first since 2016. If she can keep winning, she has a chance at a potential second shot at becoming the women’s bantamweight champion.
Ladd has had some career ups and downs in terms of her fighting career as well as her making weight. That resulted in Ladd having to take a short-notice fight up a weight class against Norma Dumont, who outclassed her for 25 minutes.
Ladd’s original opponent Irene Aldana withdrew from the fight and now she will face a different but tough opponent in Pennington. I truly believe Pennington is the tougher fight out of these two opponents. She will be the one being the aggressor, throwing output, and looking to hurt Ladd. Ladd’s only chance is to get this to the mat and get the finish. That is a lot easier said than done, as Pennington sprawls and brawls to a unanimous decision.
