The Fight Analyst is coming off of a 1-1 night, which would be the first card he didn’t profit from in the last 2 months. He will be looking to get back on track this week at UFC Vegas 52.
This week’s card is headlined by two of the UFC women’s strawweight division’s best, former champion Jessica Andrade and Amanda Lemos. Both are come-forward action fighters and will be looking to put on a show for the fans.
The rest of this card has some sneaky good fights like Charles Jourdain taking on Lando Vannata and Manel Kape vs. SuMudaerji. So, let’s take a look at the Best Bets for UFC Vegas 52.
Maycee Barber vs. Montana de La Rosa
The Fight Analyst’s Pick |

Maycee Barber -181 to win |
In the women’s flyweight division we have a fight between Maycee Barber and Montana de La Rosa. In this fight, both women are looking for a win to push themselves up in the rankings.
Barber comes into this fight on the heels of a controversial decision victory over Miranda Maverick. She was able to edge it out on the judges’ scorecards to give Maverick her first loss inside the UFC octagon. Barber will be looking to use her defensive wrestling to keep this fight on the feet and at distance, where she has a distinct advantage.
De La Rosa is coming off of a win against Ariane Lipski and is now 1-1-1 in her last three fights. Her game is predicated on getting her opponents to the ground and keeping them there. Her stand-up is where she still has not made any major improvements over the years, and that could be her downfall in this matchup.
De La Rosa will be desperate to get this fight to the mat any way possible, but seeing as Barber has shown good takedown defense thus far in the UFC, that is no easy task. Barber will be able to sprawl and brawl her way to victory in this fight.
Manel Kape vs. Mudaerji Su

Manel Kape -180 to win |
Next up, we have a great scrap between two ranked flyweight contenders with Manel Kape vs. SuMudaerji .
Kape came into his UFC debut with a ton of hype surrounding him but went on to lose two close decisions in his first two bouts. But his last two fights saw him finish each of his opponents, and he finally started looking like the top prospect we all thought he was coming into the UFC.
Su is one of the more exciting fighters in the flyweight division. He has some flashy strikes that makes it hard for any fighter to game plan against. That style of fighting will come in handy when he takes on Kape.
Kape is finally hitting his stride and looking like the contender he ought to be. His volume has increased each fight and I expect more of the same in this one. Also, his newfound love of wrestling ever since moving to AKA will be the difference maker here and will help make it finish number 3 inside the octagon.
Philipe Lins vs. Marcin Prachnio
The Fight Analyst’s Pick |
---|
Philipe Lins +105 to win |
In the light heavyweight division, we have a fight between two heavy hitters, Philipe Lins and Marcin Prachnio, in a fight that shouldn’t need the judges to decide the winner.
Lins hasn’t had the same success he had in the Professional Fighters League as he’s had inside the UFC octagon. He has lost consecutive bouts, albeit against stiff competition at heavyweight in Tanner Boser and Andrei Arlovski. Even with those losses, Lins still has the power to end the fight at any given moment which bodes well here in this matchup against Prachnio.
Prachnio also had a rough go when he came into the UFC dropping his first three fights all by first-round knockout. He has since racked up back-to-back wins and will be looking to make it number three against Lins on Saturday night.
Even in the wins for Prachnio, he was still getting way too often. He had to survive an onslaught in the first round against Rountree only for him to gas out. There is a chance that could happen here with Lins since this will be his first fight at Light Heavyweight. With that said, I will happily take Lins as an underdog with the power upside to end Prachnio’s night early yet again.
