“The Korean Superboy” is back.
A matchup between Doo Ho Choi and Kyle Nelson is slated to take place on February 4 at a UFC Fight Night event in Seoul, South Korea, according to sources close to the situation.
Choi will return to the Octagon after three injury-plagued years. The South Korean striker blasted onto the scene in 2014 and earned three straight first-round knockouts. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, he was pushed into the spotlight at UFC 206 against Cub Swanson. The pair put on a ‘Fight of the Night’ clash leading to a Hall of Fame induction in 2022 for their efforts. Currently, the 31-year-old Team MAD staple is riding a three-fight skid after a knockout loss to Charles Jourdain in 2019 at UFC Busan.
Nelson joined the UFC in 2018 and has not found much success. Bouncing between multiple weight classes, he has accumulated a record of 1-4 under the promotion. In his last appearance inside the cage, he fell short against Jai Herbert on the judge’s scorecards in a 155-pound bout. “The Monster” will return to 145 in this upcoming clash.
