The Group E winners odds show a significant gap in expectations to top the group between Spain and Germany, both likely to progress, and Japan plus one more – either Costa Rica or New Zealand.
Group E Winners Odds: Spain ahead of Germany
Group E houses two of the biggest teams in European football, 2010 World Cup champions and now FIFA world-ranked #7 Spain, and four-time World Cup winners #12 Germany. There’s not a lot in it, in the Group winners odds, with Spain only marginally favored. This is reflected in the outright winner market as well, where Spain is +800-850 and Germany just behind at +1000-1100.
Joining them is Japan (#23), and the as-yet-unknown winner of the June intercontinental playoff match between New Zealand (#101) and Costa Rica (#31).

Although we don’t know if it’s Costa Rica or New Zealand that will round out Group E, we do know that Germany opens the action heavily favored against Japan.
