Don’t make Al Horford angry. Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo made that mistake during the third quarter of Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinals matchup. The Greek Freak threw down a ferocious dunk in the at the beginning of the second half before staring down Celtics veteran Al Horford.
Giannis received a technical for his staredown but fans could see that Horford wanted revenge.
“I don’t really know what he said to me, but the way he was looking at me and the way that was going about it really didn’t sit well with me,” Horford said after the game. “And at that point something switched with me in the game.”
Horford’s sister even tweeted that the Bucks chose the wrong player to disrespect.
Horford went on to score 16 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter as he led Boston to a crucial 116-108 victory. On top of his scoring outburst, Horford got payback by posterizing Giannis, forcing the two-time MVP to the floor.
The Celtics outscored the Bucks from that moment on, tallying an incredible 43 points in the fourth quarter. Horford meanwhile made history by becoming the second oldest Celtic to score 30 points or more in the playoffs.
Players, ex-players and fans were amazed with the performance.
The teams square off again on Wednesday in Boston as they battle to take a 3-2 lead.
