A strawweight bout between Loma Lookboonmee and Diana Belbita is targeted to take place on September 17 at UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Song, according to sources close to the situation.
Lookboonmee has had mixed results since entering the organization in 2019. In her last fight at UFC Fight Night: Vieria vs Tate, the 26-year-old Thai prospect lost a disappointing decision to Loopy Godinez, who was a late replacement for Cheyanne Vlismas due to COVID protocol.
Similarly, Belbita has not had the best run so far with the UFC. The Canadian up-and-comer has accumulated a record of 1-3 with a solid win over Hannah Goldy last July. Most recently, she dropped a decision to Gloria de Paula in an intense striking battle.
The show will be headlined by a bantamweight contender clash between Cory Sandhagen and Song Yadong. The location and venue for UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Song have yet to be determined. But all signs point to Las Vegas at this moment.
