Undefeated Canadian flyweight Jamey-Lyn Horth thinks winning a Legacy Fighting Alliance title inevitably leads to one thing: A UFC contract.
She first has to beat Mayra Cantuaria in the LFA 120 main event this weekend for the promotion’s vacant flyweight title.
“I think this is a great opportunity,” Horth said to The AllStar’s John Hyon Ko in an interview. “LFA is obviously a very well-known company. Everything they have done. The champions, pretty much all of them end up going to the UFC. At the end of the day, that’s what we’re all striving for.”
Horth is seeking to emulate the dozens of LFA fighters who have graduated to the bigger promotion. Brandon Moreno, the UFC flyweight champion, previously fought for LFA.
In Cantuaria, Horth sees “definitely a fighter that is well-rounded. She’s got experience in the cage. She’s got 12, 13 fights in the cage as a pro. I think she’s gonna be good everywhere and sometimes my fight finishes are second, third round. I have no problem going five rounds. I’m built for endurance, I’m built for speed. So I’m ready for a war and may the best man win.”
Horth also speaks to The AllStar about:
- Wrestling
- Emphasis on endurance
- Training with ONE Championship bantamweight title-holder Bibano Fernandes
