Yesterday brought the news that Conor McGregor would make his silver screen debut starring in a reboot of the 1989 film, “Road House”.
Today, McGregor took to social media to reflect on his career so far before he embarks on this new venture – highlighting his bout with one, Nate Diaz.
This string of tweets left many online fans confused, and clamoring over another perceived retirement by the Irish superstar – however, Karen Kessler, a spokesperson for McGregor later clarified that her client still expects to make a return to the cage.
“Conor McGregor is very excited to expand his storied career to Hollywood and join with Jake Gyllenhaal in this reimagining of ‘Road House,’ a beloved classic,” Kessler told MMA Junkie. “While fighting remains his top focus, this is the beginning of another successful venture in the McGregor empire. He is eager to get started filming.”

On this day in MMA…
On the 5th of August, 2017, Sergio Pettis defeated Ultimate Fighter 24 contestant, Brandon Moreno via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night: Pettis vs Moreno.
This was Moreno’s fourth fight and first loss under the UFC banner – he’d only fight (and lose) once more before being cut from the promotion in 2018; only to return and eventually put on some of the greatest flyweight title fights in the history of the promotion with Deivision Figueiredo.
That night was also the final time cooler commentator Brian Stand worked on a UFC broadcast.
