Gilbert Burns is hungry for a fight.
The Brazilian welterweight last stepped in the cage in April of this year to take on the freight train that is Khamzat Chimaev – to no avail, however. Burns is eager for redemption, and hopes to find it after spending 15 minutes or less locked in the Octagon with Jorge Masvidal.
`Durinho’ skipped backroom conversations and announced publicly via Twitter that he’s targeting a return against `Gamebred’ for a November date.
Masvidal, who currently finds himself on a three-fight skid to top contenders, Kamaru Usman (x2) and Colby Covington, is yet to publicly acknowledge the callout – or any call out since his legal altercation with Covington earlier this year.

On this day in MMA…
On the 2nd of August, 2014, UFC 176 was slated to take place in Las Angeles, California, however, it was canceled exactly one month prior – just the second time in history the promotion had scrapped an event.
The pay-per-view event was booked with Jose Aldo defending his featherweight championship against Chad Mendes in the headline bout – though Aldo was forced to withdraw after suffering a shoulder and cervical spine injury. When the UFC failed to find a replacement headline fight, the event was canceled and a full refund was given to ticket holders.
