There is no love lost between former opponents Marvin Vettori and Israel Adesanya.
Vettori, who competes in the co-main event this weekend at UFC Paris, unleashed on the current middleweight champion in a pre-fight press scrum. Adesanya had earlier claimed he wasn’t excited for Vettori’s bout, and that his defeat to Robert Whittaker was a foregone conclusion.
Vettori fired back, making it clear his desire to see Adesanya unconscious after his November clash against Alex Pereira at UFC 281.
“Adesanya, it’s over. Nothing excites me about that guy,” Vettori told media members at the press conference. “Of course, I’ll get my win against him before I’m done with all this, but the things that he can do best – now he’s painting his nails. I definitely like more Pereira and the way he carries himself and the way he goes about fighting and all that – not much bullsh*t, just straight, bad motherf*cker type of thing, and that’s it.”
“I really hope [Adesanya] goes out in another oxygen mask, and I think it can happen, because that’s going to be a kickboxing fight,”
