The Fight Analyst came back with a vengeance at UFC Austin as he swept the board going 3-0. That puts his overall record at 29-13 and will be looking to keep the momentum going this weekend!
UFC Austin delivered excitement throughout the card with numerous finishes on the night. Coming up this weekend, we are back at the UFC Apex with yet another stacked fight card. In the main event, Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot battle it out in a hotly anticipated fight between two lightweight contenders. With that said, let’s take a look at the Best Bets for UFC Vegas 57.
Chris Curtis vs. Rodolfo Vieira
In the middleweight division, we have a great fight between two legitimate contenders between Chris Curtis and Rodolfo Vieira.
Curtis made his long-awaited UFC debut in 2021 and made the most of his opportunity winning each of his first two fights with the promotion by knockout while being a big underdog. He has the ability to knock out anyone at 185 lbs and will need to utilize that power to his advantage in this matchup.
“The Black Belt Hunter” Rodolfo Vieira was one of the top prospects coming into his debut and looked the part submitting three of his first four opponents in the UFC. His world-class grappling will need to play a vital role in this matchup.
This is a classic grappler vs striker matchup and it’s arguably one of the best fights on the night. We have seen Vieira time and time again slow down as the fight progresses and it boils down to whether he can control and submit Curtis if he gets him down. I expect the experience of Curtis to play a massive role in this fight, making Vieira work for his takedowns and ultimately knocking him in the latter portion of this fight.

Cody Durden vs. J.P. Buys
We have an action-packed fight in the flyweight division between Cody Durden and J.P. Buys.
Durden and Buys are both on losing skids and are in need to get back into the win column this weekend. This should bring out a ton of action from both fighters as they are essentially fighting for their jobs.
They are proven finishers. Combined, both Durden and Buys have racked up 18 finishes, which leads me to believe that another finish could be on the way. Considering these fighters are so evenly matched, I would like to play it safe here and take the under. Expect a high-octane fight from both fighters with a finish coming from either fighter within two rounds.

Carlos Ulberg vs. Tafon Nchukwi
In the light heavyweight division, we have a banger between two knockout artists in Carlos Ulberg and Tafon Nchukwi.
Ulberg had a ton of hype surrounding him coming into his UFC debut only to drop a very exciting fight against a tough Kennedy Nzechukwu, who was able to withstand Ulberg’s onslaught in round one. He was able to get back on track with a dominant decision win over Fabio Cherant and is looking to build on his momentum here against Nchukwi.
Nchuwki is a decorated kickboxer with a ton of power behind his strikes. He burst onto the scene with one of the most vicious knockouts in Contender Series history. Since then he has had some mixed results alternating wins and losses in each of his last three fights.
This one is going to be a fun fight between two very skilled kickboxers. This is yet another very tough matchup for Nchukwi especially after getting brutally knocked out just three months ago. Ulberg will be able to keep this fight at kicking distance where he will be able to out-strike Nchukwi to a unanimous decision victory.
