Forget “Fight of the Night,” how about “Fight of the Year?”
That’s what UFC featherweight Andre Ewell thinks may result from his UFC Vegas 45 scrap against Charles Jourdain on Dec. 18.
“I feel like that’s a perfect matchup and I’m excited about it because no matter how you end up looking at it, it’s about to be a banger,” Ewell told The AllStar’s John Hyon Ko in an interview.
“Jourdain has been the person that I wanted to fight since last year. That’s just me being frank cause everybody knew I already was on the mindset of stepping up in weight. And every time that I’m on Twitter and Jourdain fought…I’m a fan and he’s exciting.
“It’s gonna be slanging thangs. I feel like that’s what’s going to happen in the first round and I’m gonna treat every round like it is the first round. My mindset and goal is to basically knock him out.”
“It is a potential ‘Fight of the Night’. It might be a ‘Fight of the Year’ type thing.”
