UFC featherweight Darrick Minner is looking to finish his next opponent Ryan Hall in the later rounds of their UFC 269 clash by relying on his experience and a deliberate game plan.
“This is my world,” Minner told The AllStar ahead of his Dec. 11 fight in Las Vegas. “I’m not going on a jiu-jitsu match. He’s entering my world. I’ve had 50-plus fights, he has 10. Ryan Hall is coming to my world.
“I’ve been doing this shit a lot longer. MMA-wise I have a lot more experience than he does by far so that’s my philosophy on it. It’s not about entering his world. We’re getting in a cage and we can punch. If it was a jiu-jitsu match, it would be a little different, but this ain’t jiu-jitsu.
“I’m just gonna go in there and fight with a clear head, listen to my coach, and implement the game plan. See where it takes us. I’m gonna get him out of there late. Second or third round, I’m gonna get him out of there. If I walk out of there with a KO, submission, whatever it takes it’s gonna happen.”
